WHAT IS FROOMY?
Froomy is an intuitive mobile application created to revolutionize the way universities and colleges assist students with the first-year dorm mate selection process and overall experience.
As these young students transition from high school to college or university, stressors can be quite extreme.
Imagine that you live with your parent(s) in a safe, managed and constructive environment. Now imagine leaving them behind, along with your home, most of your belongings, your friends, your high school and teachers, and the community that you know like the back of your hand. Imagine being dropped off with a fraction of your belongings, alone, in a place that’s unfamiliar, with people you don’t know or trust yet.
Now imagine that you are also thrown into a small room, with someone you don’t know, for at least 10 hours a day. No college or university freshmen needs that amount of unnecessary stress.
Froomy was created to simplify the ever-expanding needs and expectations of the modern day college student while also fostering a better sense of community campus-wide.
From allowing students to choose their desired first year roommate, offering a platform where they can access and discuss class notes, to receiving notifications from groups and organizations within their school, Froomy makes it happen.
Froomy aims to partner with several colleges and universities across the nation with a dual goal, empower and enhance the lives of students who already have enough on their plate and make life easier and more streamlined for institutions.
By partnering with these institutions, Froomy will provide, free of charge, a downloadable app specifically designed and personalized for each school and community. We plan on utilizing the schools we partner with as a direct distribution point to reach every dormer on campus. Froomy provides the administrative tools to better serve the needs of the modern-day student.
Long term, we believe that Froomy will play a role in increasing overall satisfaction levels, which should impact ratings and attrition rates across the country.

Froomy is a mobile platform that will be the most effective and efficient way for first-year college students to find and match with their ideal roommate based on compatibility, see updates and announcements of what's going on around campus, as well as get a sneak peek of your future dorm room utilizing virtual reality.
HOW DOES FROOMY WORK?
Froomy is in the business of connecting college students with the best possible dorm mate through an intricate process of identifying a student's "deal breakers" utilizing a series of specific questions. Who doesn't want their roommate to be their friend? Froomy utilizes custom algorithms that provide students with potential roommate matches.
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our company is here to solve that problem for future generations to come. This will be an iPhone/Android Application that enables incoming first-year college students to easily find their freshman year roommate simply by swiping right or left. After May 1st, when high school seniors should have made their decision on what institution they would like to further their education at, colleges and universities will reach out to all of the incoming first-year students and transfers and provide them with their new college email and student ID. This is the information they will need to gain entry to our application, where there is a profile already made for them; all they need to do is fill it out. At this point, they will be able to log onto our app and start navigating their way in preparation for their much anticipated first semester (to ensure no fake profiles). The mobile application can be downloaded at the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) for free by students.
Right when you log onto the app, the user will be asked to create a profile for themselves that best reflects their tastes and preferences amongst a series of different categories. The user will also be asked a sequence of questions that will pair similar answers between users, using a complex algorithm created by intensive research. When you are done creating your profile, you will have successfully activated your account and a series of other user’s profiles will show up in the form of pictures for you to tap on and conveniently navigate through their profiles. If you like what you see, tap the ‘thumbs up’ icon, or swipe right. If you don’t want to select the person presented, tap the ‘thumbs down’ button, or simply swipe left and the next candidate will appear. When you ‘swipe right’ to select another user, when they view your profile and do the same to you, the two of you will be matched! There will also be optionally social media icons that users will be able to place on their profiles so other users can get a deeper sense of who the person really is.

Once you start matching with other users on the app, you simply send them a chat and figure out if that person is the most ideal fit to be your roommate.
